What the firm is building.

Client engagements are confidential and stay that way. These are the programmes and practice areas we are developing in our own name, the structures through which the work is organized and extended.

2026,

Board Advisory Practice

Independent counsel to boards ahead of capital decisions, strategy approvals, and executive transitions, distinct from work done for management.

A growing share of engagements are held with the board rather than the executive team: pressure-testing management's plan, providing an independent read ahead of a material commitment, or helping a board become articulate about what it is actually asking of its executives. The practice is deliberately structured to preserve independence from management reporting lines.

Ongoing

2026,

Operating Notes

A continuing programme of published observation on how cross-border growth actually behaves, the material that becomes our Insights.

Our published work is a deliberate output of practice rather than a marketing function. Operating Notes is the internal discipline behind it: recurring observation from live engagements, anonymized and generalized, tested against other practitioners before publication. It is the reason the Insights library exists and the mechanism by which it continues to grow.

Cross-Border Readiness Lab

A working format for founders and management teams preparing for institutional capital or strategic partnership conversations with cross-border counterparties.

An intensive adversarial-review format: the company's equity story and evidence base are tested in private against the questions a sophisticated counterparty will ask, with particular attention to where Japanese and Western evaluation norms diverge. Output is a revised narrative, a mapped evidence gap list, and a prepared counterparty approach.

Japan–Global Bridge Program

A structured advisory track for a small number of organizations committing to a multi-year Japan position, combining entry architecture with ongoing counsel through the build period.

Rather than a single engagement ending at recommendation, the Bridge Program runs alongside an organization through the first phase of its Japan commitment: the period in which most of the decisions that determine the outcome are made, and in which most entrants lose conviction. The structure pairs an initial entry or correction diagnostic with a standing advisory relationship across the following build period.
